Melrose Hill

Melrose Hill is a quaint neighborhood of 42 historic homes located near the intersection of Melrose and Western avenues in southeast Hollywood. The modest single family homes of this tree-shaded community were built between 1911 and 1926, at the height of popularity for the California bungalow. Today, residents call the community a “step back in time” where neighbors know one another and watch after each other’s kids, who ride bicycles and play in the two cul-de-sacs and one tiny street. One of the best ways neighbors get to know each other is through an annual fall potluck block party to which local politicians and members of the police and fire departments are invited.

Melrose Hill acquired historic preservation status in 1988.

Q2 2023 for the period ending June 30, 2023 per the Multiple Listing Service:

Melrose Hill HPOZ – Only one single family home was sold in the second quarter. It sold for$1,420,000 for a 2,320 square foot house on a 6,050 square foot lot after 10 days on market.
