Two especially noteworthy properties made headlines this month:

SOLD

The historic Dorothy Chandler Estate – often called the “White House of the West” – has finally traded at $12MM. Last sold in 2014 for $9.5MM, the property cycled on and off the market for years, with asking prices reaching as high as $50M and representation spanning 10 agents across 7 brokerages.

Dorothy Buffum Chandler was a true visionary for Los Angeles. She helped save the Hollywood Bowl from financial collapse in the 1950s and led the creation of the Los Angeles Music Center downtown in the 1960s. A Stanford University graduate, she hosted U.S. presidents—including Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon – and served both the Los Angeles Times and the U.S. Advisory Commission on Information.

We’re excited to see this iconic estate restored to its former glory.

LISTED

The longtime home of Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne has hit the open market at $17MM. We consider it one of the top three properties in Hancock Park. This 1929 Mediterranean villa, designed by architect A. K. Kellogg, is rich in architectural detail, Hollywood history and exceptional privacy.

The Osbournes preserved the most compelling features, creating a timeless estate with one of our favorite screening rooms in the neighborhood. Their decade-plus tenure here speaks volumes about the enduring appeal of Hancock Park living.

More to share soon, and as always, we look forward to connecting in person!
