Balenciaga Comes to Windsor Square

As much as Hancock Park can feel like the Gilmore Girls “Stars Hollow”, “Virgin River” or “Mayberry” for Andy Griffith fans, it has always been globally fashionable and understated. This month Balenciaga’s marketing team staged a star-studded live event under the palm trees of Windsor Square to debut its Fall 2024 collection.  For nearly 100 years homes have been featured in Architectural Digest and this neighborhood feature was in an entirely new league!

A Fashion Show in an Unlikely Setting

The highlight of the weekend, Spanish label Balenciaga put on a show in the middle of Los Angeles, taking over the Windsor Square neighborhood to share its fall 2024 collections. Models walked the closed-off street-turned-runway with the gorgeous Hollywood hills and sign as the backdrop. A few celebrities even graced the runway, the most notable being Cardi B and Brigitte Nielsen.

This was the brand’s second destination show in the US. The collection on display shows the latest SoCal fashion and spirit, starting with the exercise clothes, gym bags, and souped-up sneakers of the first few looks. Velour jumpsuits and giant high-heeled shearling boots came next, followed by the sensational display evening of evening clothes.

The list of guests was arguably an even more appetizing sight than the fashion, with newly announced brand ambassador Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek and her Husband & CEO of Kering (owner of Balenciaga) François-Henri Pinault headlining the attendance. A who’s who of Hollywood A-listers featuring Eva Longoria, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Joey King, Lisa Rinna, Lil Wayne, Storm Reid, Tinashe, Brooklyn Beckham, Rachel Sennott, Samara Weaving, Nicola Peltz, Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Banks, Taylor Zakhar Perez, & Meghann Fahy were all gracing the crowd with their presence.

It was a spectacle to see and experience in person. An amazing way to round out the end of the year here in Windsor Square, and an exciting new page to add to the chapter of our neighborhood.
