Neighborhood Council Elections: Don’t Forget to Vote!

The Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council (GWNC) election is approaching on April 15th, and this year, voting will be conducted entirely by mail-in ballots. Neighborhood Councils are the first level of official city government, advocating for residents and businesses on issues such as land use, crime, and transportation, making your vote crucial.

Save The Date! Windsor Square Public Safety Town Hall, April 23rd

The Windsor Square Association will hold a special public safety town hall meeting with senior leadership from the Los Angeles Police Department at 7 PM on April 23rd, at Marlborough School.  Confirmed attendees include LAPD Chief of Police Jim McDonnell, Olympic Commanding Officer Brian O’Connor, Olympic Senior Lead Officer David Chavez, and Wilshire Senior Lead Officer Tyler Shuck. Expect a lively and informative discussion on recent tactics by criminals, crime statistics, other public safety issues, and how to keep your family and home safe in Windsor Square. We expect this event will be popular, and we have a limited number of seats. We strongly encourage you to RSVP now so we can keep you updated on event details and send you a reminder.

Windsor Square — Hancock Park Historical Society Annual Garden Tour

Spring is in full bloom, and we’re excited to share the word about a fantastic event from our friends at the Windsor Square – Hancock Park Historical Society. Tickets are now on sale for their Annual Garden Tour, happening Saturday, May 3rd from 12 PM to 4 PM. Pick up your wristbands and programs at 355 S. Windsor Boulevard and enjoy food and drinks while you’re there.

This year’s tour showcases a stunning lineup of gardens, each with its own unique style. Stroll through the Wilton-Ridgewood Historic District to see two gems on Wilton Drive: one dubbed “Ladies of the Canyon,” a vibrant backyard retreat, and its neighbor across the street, an “Urban Oasis,” both crafted by Sarah Alexander of Rodriguez & Satterthwaite Landscape.

On Lucerne, you’ll find a drought-tolerant English garden designed by Cheryl Kellough, paired with a 1920 French Normandy-style home by architects Walker & Eisen. A fourth extraordinary Windsor Square garden is also on display, brought to life by landscape designer Patricia Benner.

Tickets are $55 for WSHPHS members and $75 for non-members. To purchase tickets, please visit: https://windsorsquarehancockpark.com/2025/04/2025-garden-tour/
